Sometimes you need to hide a file. It may be a surprise birthday party invite list, a sensitive work document or even something a bit more nefarious. Whatever the reason, File Camouflage will do the trick.
What happens when you camouflage a file is, the file you want to hide is masked as one of your existing picture. If you open the picture with the file hidden in it, the picture will look no different. The only difference you will notice after the file is camouflaged into another is the name of the host picture is modified.
The beauty of this application is its portability. You can run it from a USB drive or even the memory of your smart phone. Tell me that’s doesn’t make you feel like a spy.
How to Install and Use File Camouflage
There are two different places you can install the File Camouflage application. You can install it on your hard drive, or you can install it on a portable flash drive of some sort.

Un-Camouflaging your file
STEP 1. Click on the De-camouflage tab.
STEP 2. Select the image with the embedded file and the output folder location.
STEP 2. Select the image with the embedded file and the output folder location.
Tips :
1. If you pick the wrong file and run the program, you will see an error like this letting you know there is no file in the image you selected.
2. If there is a file camouflaged in the image you chose, you will see, what looks like, the same process as you did when you camouflaged it.
When you are done, you can open the file like normal.
Just to be clear, you need a Jpeg file to hide a file. It’s not just images that you can hide – all sorts of files (.txt, .pdf etc) can be hidden in the Jpeg image.
Conclusion
If you are transporting sensitive information on a flash drive or even emailing files with information you do not want to fall into the wrong hands, this is ideal. It was tested running from a 4gb flash drive, a micro SD card in an Android phone and from the hard drive of a Windows computer. All worked great for both hiding and un-hiding the files.
